The use of by-products and wastes as conditioners in agriculture presents the potential problem of the pollutants presence in raw materials and its persistence and degradation to toxic compounds. To study this, the cluster relies on researchers from the AA1 group, experts in advanced food analysis based on high resolution chromatographic techniques and proteomic and metabolomic technologies; plant physiologists from the BEV1 and BV6 groups; food technologists experts in meat and fish from the group EQ4; and computer scientists from the LIA2 group for the development of ITC technologies for traceability and quality control based on the blockchain technology and artificial vision.
