This sub-line is intended to contribute to solve the current difficulties in the crop species micropropagation at large scale.
Researchers from the BEV1, with a wide experience in biotechnology applied to woody species, are developing and applying biotechnological methods to species of agricultural or forest interest. This methods can include consolidated in vitro cultivation techniques, like micropropagation, or advanced improvement methods, like the somatic embryogenesis associated with genomic analysis. The methods of genomic edition for genetic analyse and species of interest improvement can be also developed.
The BV6 group has previous experience in this field with the kiwi, using the ITCs, with the help of the LIA2 group.
